Monica & Raymond | Doltone House Sylvania

Monica and Raymond share their thoughts about their wedding day and their experience working with the team from D’nM.

How was your experience working with D’nM Wedding Films?

D’nM were very friendly and easy to work with. Planning a wedding can be a very stressful experience so choosing a supplier that is experienced, professional and patient is very important. Raymond and I had an absolutely fun afternoon filming our pre-wedding shoot at The New South Wales Art Gallery. This is where Raymond proposed on Valentines. Day. Ian, the videographer was relaxed, flexible and accommodating. We really enjoyed his company. He shot some great images, so picturesque and creative. Dave and his team have been an absolute pleasure to get to know and work with. I would definitely recommend D’nM to friends and family.

Why was video important to you?

I think having a video of a day that is so memorable and emotional helps capture all the sentiments of the day. The ability to be able to go back and watch yourself, your expressions, other peoples expressions, you can’t capture that in just a photo.

Why did you choose D’nM?

We discovered D’nM at a bridal expo in Sydney after looking quite extensively for a few months for a wedding videographer. To be honest the popcorn machine caught our attention initially. It seemed quite fitting. We were greeted by Dave who was very friendly, easy to talk to and didn’t push us to make any decisions. We felt he had a sense of genuine commitment and passion for his work. We also found the packages offered gave us everything we sought. D’nM certainly put their clients’ needs first.

How were the team on your wedding day?

The video crew were very fun and easy going on our wedding day. There weren’t instructive or intrusive but rather assisted us to get the most out of our location shoots. Their level of professionalism and skill is most definitely encapsulated in our wedding film.

Tell us about other suppliers that you loved working with.

Our wedding photographer AKR Photography also allowed us to have an enjoyable experience. Amber’s talent, creativity and passion are invaluable.

Doltone House Sylvania Waters, Tony Boz DJ Events, along with Sydney Wedding Flowers created the perfect ambience for our reception.

Ashley Clare Makeup Artistry and Rosella Bridal Dreams both made me look like a princess with their creative talent. But of course a bride needs a white gown and I found the most beautiful gown made just for me at De Lanquez Bridal. The detail was simply exquisite, making my dress everything I had envisaged. Jojo is an amazingly talented designer.

What were your favourite moments from your wedding day?

The pre-ceremony shoots were fun with the girls, especially in our robes. Seeing Raymond waiting nervously for at the front of the church and then walking down the aisle with him was so surreal but none more than walking out as husband and wife. Our first dance was definitely one of the highlights- the song was breathtaking and we only started practising a couple days before so I feel we got through that one without any major mishaps.

Why did you choose your location / venues?

We chose Doltone House Sylvania Waters because of both its interior and exterior. The function room was newly renovated and resonated well with the style I was aiming for. Christine, our events coordinator was so lovely and organised. Our location shoots at Carrs Bush Park offered some stunning natural scenery and timeless shots at the old heritage house.

What advice would you give to couples planning their wedding?

My advice would be to go to a few bridal expos (but not too many so you don’t confuse yourself) and speak to as many suppliers. Don’t just make a decision based on price but also a rapport that makes you feel comfortable and confident.
